Art Gallery
The first floor (2000 sq.
ft) of the Center is where the art department
facilitates workshops and exhibits visual arts. The
walls and counters are covered with original artwork by
at-risk family members. The children's section displays
the artistic expressions that are produced as a result
of the many hands-on art workshops designed for
self-expression, healing, problem solving, and growth.
The adult section displays the work produced during
workshops, designed to specifically explore the struggle
of adults of at-risk families. This section also
exhibits art that has been produced by individuals who
are incarcerated in prisons across America. Prison art
and its intrigue is said to be the hottest new genre in
today's ever-changing art market. There are interactive
workshops that are specifically designed to generate
traveling exhibits, and these exhibits are available for
hanging tours. The gallery increases the fixture of the
Canton City art district and is involved with Canton's
First Fridays events.
